i absolutely adore this little apartment & wish i could have went crazy decorating it.
{it's kinda hard to put effort into a place you will be leaving so soon, i think}
it is located down a quiet little street with amazing views of trees galore...
oh how i will miss this view! how i will terribly miss sitting in the big sofa chair reading my Bible listening to the trees rustle in the always refreshing breeze, knowing that G_D is ever so near. how i will miss closing my eyes listening to the birds sing songs & all the glorious sounds of this little woodsy neighborhood...
*sigh*
okie now with that out of the way, let's break it down..
hello, & welcome to my little apartment! oh, you want a tour you say?! no problem...
a} this is our entry way. as you can see, we have a very fancy coat rack that was purchased at real's{the german wal-mart pronounced re-al's} for a hefty price! would you like me to take your coat? no. okay. anyway, you can notice we are big on the reusable bags & besides being great for the environment they make wonderful wall art don't you say?
b} if you notice over on the wall we have mirrors placed in a very fancy pattern for your viewing pleasure! {i so wish i could take credit for such creativity but someone else beat me to it}
c} next stop our kitchen. we have so much room in there we hardly know what to do with it...
see i wasn't exaggerating at all..so much room!
a} you gotta love the super small sink that i am lucky enough to clean all our fine china in &...
b}the floor that always stays spotless from bread crumbs & various food particles! it's amazing how it does that!
c} also, you can notice the kitchen comes equipped with a door! you may think that it is pointless, annoying & takes up too much room but who needs extra room when your kitchen is as spacious as ours?!
d} now for my most favorite part of the kitchen...the window! i really do love this window & i will miss staring out at the neighbors beautiful yard with a amazing flowers & trees. well, a cherry tree to be exact{we even had the pleasure of being gifted with a bag full!}. they even have chickens & bunnies. wait, did i say my neighbors? silly me, i meant looking out at our yard-that i slave away in daily! also, i simply love the little built in shelves.
here is a closer look at my window...
a}i have quite the green thumb, but i don't want to brag!
b}aren't my little red polka dot dishes so cute? i got them for a stellar deal at a flea market...errr..i mean a..errr...a very pricey dish store!
c} i love my curtains! i stained them with some green tea to make them look antique-y. oh, did i say that i stained them? no, no, no you misunderstood, i bought them at an old german antique store for a pretty penny.
where is our fridge you ask? oh, its behind the door, see...
a} who needs to store an abundance of food in a normal size fridge? pssh, not us. we hardly eat anyways!
b} i mean what else can i say, other then it obvious your getting jealous of all our fine foods, so lets move on to the living room area...
a} i personally wouldn't have picked out these curtains, but we were told they were left by german royalty, so we decided they could stay.
b} now on to our modern *cough military issued cough cough* coffee table. i think it speaks for itself. as well as, the table runner & flower bowl found at the ikea store.
here is another angle of our grand living quarters...
a} isn't it just lovely. i bought this sewing box at the same flea market as my polka dot dishes for dirt cheap & it was full of wonderful crafting/sewing supplies! did i say flea market again? silly me, you know what it is? the store name was market de la flea. you see how i can so easily get confused!
b} don't mind all the various cords piled on the ground. we like it like that....it's very abstract....we look it as art. don't you agree? yes, i knew you would!
c} that would be my pops' t.v. on our very extravagant entertainment center.
d} we loved the coffee table so much we also had them make a big sofa chair for us especially. also notice that amazing blanket? yeah, it's one of a kind...a furner mom original!
e} can you believe we won this plant at the spring fair! well, we did because we're awesome like that. it's called a curly ficus...
f} i see you admiring our ceiling. isn't it just soooo charming?!
g} our balcony? why yes that's part of the tour! after you...
isn't the view spectacular!
a} yes, i know i am amazing with the plants...
b} trees as far as the eye can see & charming little roof tops, too!
c} we like all types of plants yes....even weeds.
d} my favorite tree in the history of me liking trees was here but sadly the germans cut it down. it was a sad day for me, a sad day indeed. i just wish you could have seen it in all its glory...
shall we head to the den...?
a} our computer desk. it was given to us for free by...by... err...turkish gypsies-they have everything & we're great friends with them.
b} another furner mom original. it was for Easter but i liked it so much it become a focal point to the den! i can do stuff like that...ya know, cuse i'm awesome & all!
c} one of our many heaters. pssh, who needs central heating & air?
d} some family photos for you to uuuuuh & awwww over.
e} this is were all my blogging genius happens...ain't no thang!
if we just turn right around we will be in the dining area...
a} boy do we drink a lot! a lot of water that is! haaah, we go through at least 6 5 gallon jugs every 2 weeks. the key to good health is hydration, ya know.
b} aha, yes we had our sofa especially had crafted for us too!
c} a real persian rug also left by the previous owners-who were royalty remember?
d} our diner table once again crafted especially for us by the militar...err...german master crafter.
e} the window shades are amazing. the end.
f} who needs paint on the walls when you already have such a vibrant white!
let's take a walk down the hall...
a}well this is where we telephone all our many royal friends & other peeps. also notice our intercom phone. yeah, people are always buzzing us to see if can make it to their fancy roof top parties-they say it really isn't party till we're there. so true...
b} you like the floor! i'm so glad! you see it's imported marble from italy...very expensive!
c} why is there a door for the living area you ask? well you see, i first i had no idea either, but i came to find out it's to keep all the snoring away from my ears to hear! how they knew i must have it completely silent to sleep one will never know!
d} oh that's just my bedroom door, but we will get to that in a second. first, i'm just positive you would love to see the shower room...
you would! oh joy...
a} isn't that such a good idea for a shower head! i mean come on, who wants to stand under running water anyway? i prefer to freeze to death, thank you much.
b} oh, you like the color of our tile! yeah, you see those trees? they were hand painted by our gypsy friends.
c} i wish i would have captured a different angle of our tub. it has a wickedly comfortable angled slope so you can just lie down all comfy like!
don't mind me...{in the photo}
a}oh, you like the built in shelf? me too! it's so nifty...
b}where is the outlet plugs?? well, there is only one & it is under the light fixture. i mean who wants to see outlet plugs-even if they are way easier to find?
c,d} just our getting ready stuff...lets move on.
mmmhmmm...there is another shower..yes in the same room!
a} of course there is plenty of room in there & the water never splashes out on the tile, never.
b} yes it's true, we have a kokopelli shower curtain. it's all the rage over here in europe-get in the lope people!
c} oh that's shower head is not broken! we like it to spray water against the wall instead of us. it's meant to be that way.
as promised, let's make our way over to my bedroom...
a} please excuse the mess! you see i'm packing for my move back to the states. i'm so embarrassed...you don't care! thanks...you know something...you're fantastic!
b}here in europe they don't have built in closets, so we had that german crafter make me this closet. it's so roomy & fits all my clothes!
c} this light feature gets quite the envious stares from those who behold it with their jealous eyes. i was once offered a hefty sum to sell it. it is priceless to me though...
d}don't worry, you can walk on the carpet. it's 100% cashmere which doesn't stain. oh, you didn't know that? well, it's true.
oh, that's just my other closet...
a} it stays with the apartment. i wish i could take it with me.
it's so charming & just simply lovely!
you have to go? so soon! oh, to the bathroom. it's right this way...
a}the flusher? oh, it's on the wall above the toilet. i know. it's rad.
b}the always cracked bathroom window but you can shut if you want...
c} you like the circle rug...me too!
this concludes your tour...
thank you for uuuuhing & awwwwwinh at all the right moments!
i will miss this little apartment especially with all its quirks.
& i love it even without all the exaggerations!
{please know that i was only exaggerating on a lot of this & that. don't take me seriously, but i do love this apartment!}
